The University of Nashville has strict regulations when it comes to the unlawful possession, use, distribution, or facilitation of the distribution of alcohol and other drugs by students, teachers and other members of the community. Residents of the general and urban service districts of the Nashville metropolitan area have their weeds and yard waste collected four times a year on a rotating schedule along 12 routes. The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) also offers free weed removal in certain locations. See the NDOT website for details on these programs. When it comes to construction projects, plans submitted for review must accurately and fully convey the scope of the project.
At a minimum, plans for renovation or construction from existing buildings should contain information about the construction of the building, an analysis of the code, a floor plan, a personal safety plan and the business plans needed by MEPs. The construction of new buildings and additions to existing buildings must include all of the above elements, in addition to a full set of civil site plans and a flow test report. The average delivery time for most commercial construction, additions, renovations, and site plans is 4 to 6 weeks after receiving the plans. Plan review times will fluctuate depending on the volume and complexity of the projects being reviewed. All ships, including canoes and kayaks, must be equipped with a portable personal flotation device (life jacket) for each person on board or for each person towed on water skis, etc.
More information is available on the state of Tennessee website. Generally speaking, we don't offer a towing service due to several liability issues that prevent us from doing so. A design professional must submit a single electronic submission of a complete set of plans to the Code Department. Paper plans will not be accepted. Once all departments have reviewed the plans, the design professional will receive an email with a link to a digital copy of the revised set (sealed by building and fire plan examiners), as well as a copy of the FMO comment sheet for the project. A complete set of the FMO's sealed plans and comment sheet must be kept on site. The Nashville Fire Department is funded by property taxes and does not conduct fundraising activities.

The distribution or facilitation of illegal drugs (including prescription drugs) can result in suspension or expulsion for first offense; illegal distribution includes incidents where money is not exchanged. Additional standards of conduct are outlined in Student Handbook, Faculty Handbook and Medical Center's Alcohol and Drug Use Policy (Policy No.).A study published in November in Journal of American Medical Association tracked rise of laws that criminalized drug use during pregnancy as well as classifying drug use during pregnancy as child abuse that could result in loss of custody rights or as reason for civil commitment. Kentucky law which is similar to another passed in Arizona that same year requires mothers with newborns suffering from Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) to enroll in drug treatment within 90 days and maintain regular post-natal care programs or else face extinction of parental rights. California is one of dozens of states with laws in place that criminalize drug use during pregnancy; some have been passed recently due to growing concern about opioid epidemic. In addition to this possession of controlled substances or other drugs in such quantities as to create presumption of possession with intent to distribute them on or off campus is serious violation that can result in immediate suspension or expulsion.
