Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee is home to four active Greek letter organizations: Alpha Phi Alpha, Chi Omega, Kappa Alpha Psi, and Jewel. These fraternities and sororities are dedicated to providing students with opportunities to grow and develop in a values-based social environment. The Office of Student Life works with the National Panhellenic Council (NPHC) to promote sponsorship and participation in community service, service-learning, and philanthropic projects. The mission of fraternity and fellowship life at Belmont University is to foster student development through scholarships, community service, campus participation, and fraternal friendship.
Through their philanthropic activities, fraternity and sorority members raise tens of thousands of dollars and dedicate thousands of hours of practical service each year to a variety of projects that benefit people locally and nationally. In addition to the philanthropic activities hosted by fraternities in Nashville, Tennessee, there are many leadership opportunities within the fraternity and sorority community. Members can find support from others who share the same specialty. The Office of Student Engagement is available to answer any questions about fraternity and sorority life. The founders of Jewel and the first leaders of the Fraternity managed to lay a firm foundation for the Alpha Phi Alpha principles of erudition, fellowship, good character, and the elevation of humanity.
